Francesco Pavan (1975), after studying piano, composition and choral music at the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory of Venice, he devoted himself to composition, studying with Beat Furrer at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz and to conducting, studying with Emilio Pomarico at the Civica Scuola di Musica di Milano.

His particular interest in the repertoire of the Twentieth century and Contemporary, led him to make contact and to work with artists, ensemble and composers, to create and perform new music.

As composer and conductor he took part in numerous festivals and events, including: 64°Biennale Musica di Venezia, Traiettorie 2017 and Verso Traiettorie 2018 (Parma), Ex Novo Festival 2016 (Venezia), En Timsonia Festival 2014 (Timisoara), XXV Festival Forfest Czech Republic 2014 (Kroměříž), Arizona State University-Herberger Institute 2012/2013 Season, Ljubljana Festival 2012, Impuls 2011 (Graz), Nuovi Spazi Musicali 2010 (Roma), Soundscape 2011 (Maccagno), 53°Biennale Musica di Venezia, Die Unerhörte Musik 2009 (Berlin), Brinkhallin Summer Festival 2009, Rebus 2011 (Milano), Trelleborg International Piano Festival 2009, Astra Music Festival 2008 (Melbourne), XXIX° Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte di Montepulciano 2004 (Siena), Ring – Ring Festival of Contemporary Music 2005 (Belgrade).

He has given master classes and composition seminars at CIT School of Music Cork, University of Malta, Conservatorio Superior de Musica in Salamanca, Arizona State University, Real Conservatorio Superior de Musica in Madrid, Ljubljana Academy of Music.

Some of his compositions are published by ArsPublica and Sconfinarte.

He produces musical and educational projects with the Youth Orchestra Giovani Musicisti Veneti.

He teachs at the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice.
